DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY

UG and PG

The department of Sociology was established in the year 1975 with undergraduate course in Sociology. The postgraduate course (MA) was started in the year 2011-12. Eminent sociologists, scholars enabled the department to attain national stature. The faculty is drawn from acclaimed institutions such as Bangalore University, ISEC, National Law School and other distinguished visiting scholars who have specialised in the areas of Sociology.

 

The faculty has published books, papers both at the national and international level and distinguished professors in the field of sociology. In three years of its inception the PG department has the credit of 7 students who have cleared the UGC- NET and SLET exams. Students have also published papers in National Conferences and Seminars.
