• Reporting, Editing and Audio-Visual Media.
• Electronic Media Programming Techniques –  practical paper.
• Handling of a handy camera and using e-papers.
• Training  to edit a Teleprinter copy.
• The basics of communications.
• The Journo Club encourages students to make wall journals and bring out magazines.

The Department has brought  out two editions of the magazine ‘PRERANA’

Modern Teaching Methods

• Basic desk-top editing of audio and video is done.
• The production of short documentary films are taught with the help of the handy camera.

Participation of teachers in academic activities

Kusuma.R is  a member of the BOE of St.Joseph’s Evening College, Bangalore. She has also helped the Dayananda Sagar College, Bangalore  to start a Post-graduate Course in MS Communications.

FUTURE PLANS:

The Department plans to start in 2012-13
