DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE
The department of Computer Science was established in 1988. It was started with a generous donation by Dr. A. H. Rama Rao, the President and Sri. B.C.S. Narayan, former Vice-President of “The National Education Society of Karnataka”. Dr. A. H. Rama Rao was the first Head of the department of Computer Science. He made sure that the laboratories built are equipped with all necessary logistics that are convenient for the students.
The Computer Science is about the use of computational techniques and thinking for solving problems, it stands to reason that computer science in turn can and must be applied to address the many critical problems of the 21st century, of which we may mention the need for smart machines and complex systems that can work with humans seamlessly and improve society as a whole, and sustainable development and usage of systems to make effective use of scarce and expensive resources such as energy.
Our course focuses on all aspects of data management, programming, modeling and Analytics. The current areas of interest include:
Database design, NoSQL Databases, Columnar Databases (Cassandra), MongoDB for GIANT Ideas – Build innovative modern applications that create a competitive advantage.
Advanced Java helps in developing the web based application and enterprise application which include concepts like Servelets, JSP, JDBC, and Java Beans.
The .NET Framework which provides a comprehensive programming model for building all kinds of applications on Windows, from mobile to web to desktop.
Python is a widely used high-level, general-purpose, interpreted, dynamic programming language.
Data Analytics – Big data analytics refers which is used to analyze large volumes of data, or big data using tools like R studio, Excel, SAS.
Mobile communication which concentrates on GSM, CDMA, GPRS, SMS etc.
Cloud computing is used to enhance the ability to achieve business goals.
Android which is used develop mobile applications. Where the mobile is made user-friendly.
Providing facilities to students to develop system oriented projects, windows application, web applications and mobile applications using advance tools like Microsoft .Net frame work, Eclipse and Android.
